Vada Pav: Daily Hunger Savior!!
Every Mumbaikars droollsss over the name of Vada Pav...o yes thts true!!
And Yes ofcourse!! its one of my favourite snack too....😁😁
Oh, so here comes my Dilemma!! .how can I make my vada pav healthy and yet keep that taste.
When do we normally crave for vada pav? During rains? Winters? Or just by its name!! Its next to impossible to say goodbye to these last minute hunger savers throughout our life, so lets make it healthy, lower in calories and tasty!!
The King Potato and Indian spices makes this dish a super hero sandwiched between Pav. Now, if you think, the hero of the vada pav, the taste enhancer is the masala of - Mr. Vada!!!
Potatoes are rich in carbohydrates and low in protein and vitamins. If we add a little bit of protein and vitamins to our Mr. Vada, this way protein will improve its muscle mass and reduce the fat content.
So replace half of ur potato mixture with mix veg mash or cauliflower mash, plainly add sprouts or just soya chunks.
I have also tried incorporating unflavoured soya flour or protein powder and shallow fried post dipping in besan batter. Ah!! Taste yummm....!!
Once your vadas are ready, toss in same bang on ginger garlic green chilli paste and other masalas.
Rather than deep frying, try shallow frying, air fry, or make appe out of it. Use Fresh oil if you plan to fry them.
Pav again is a high glycemic dish, rather replace it with besan pancakes, mini jowar bhakri or just make a frankie out of it.
Believe me, it taste amazing just like how we like it.
A little bit of playing with our ingredients will make easy to achieve our health goal!!
Share with me how you all make it healthy...because vada pav cannot be ignored!!
Signing off...
